**Christopher R. Ryan, President**

Christopher R. Ryan P.E. has in excess of 25 years experience in the specialty environmental and geo-technical construction industries. Projects completed under Chris's management included the first large cement-bentonite slurry wall in the U.S. and the first significant use of a slurry cut-off wall as a containment for contaminated groundwater. During the course of his career, he has been responsible for the construction of hundreds of slurry wall containment barriers.

Introducing New Technologies to the United States

He has been responsible for the introduction of several now commonly used technologies into the US market, including Deep Soil Mixing, soil mixing for waste remediation, Bio-Polymer drain construction technology and the ground improvement technology known as Dynamic Compaction. Chris also changed the market for controlling mine subsidence through the introduction of high volume grout mixing and pumping techniques.

Chris Ryan Founds Geo-Solutions

Chris Ryan founded Geo-Solutions in early 1996. The firm operates on a different business model than other types of construction industry participants. The highly experienced staff uses experience gained on over a thousand geotechnical and geo-environmental construction projects to help general contractors and owners choose cost-effective methods and implement specialty work. Geo-Solutions has experienced field supervisors and a fleet of state-of-the-art specialty construction equipment that can be provided to clients during the actual implementation of the work. Chris has also extensive experience in dispute resolution. He has served as a consultant to law firms and worked as an expert witness on a wide variety of situations, including expert report preparation and court-room testimony.

Chris Ryan’s Background

Chris earned three degrees from M.I.T. in Civil Engineering with a geo-technical specialty. He participates in several professional societies and has authored numerous technical papers and articles in trade publications. In 1979, Chris founded the specialty contracting firm of Geo-Con, Inc. and led it to a position of national prominence in the environment and geotechnical construction markets. Geo-Con was sold in 1995, paving the way for the founding of Geo-Solutions.
