Geo-Solutions provides experienced, on-site quality control staff and technicians to monitor construction work in progress. Once again, it is the experience of the Geo-Solutions staff with construction of numerous specialized construction projects (e.g. In Situ Soil Mixing, jet grouting, and slurry walls) that adds value to the project. Our principals and staff have the unique capability to deal with inevitable changes and other problems that crop up on underground work.

We Bring Everything You Need On Site

Geo-Solutions provides on-site personnel, all necessary field equipment and supervision of off-site quality control, or QC, testing carried out in independent laboratories. Our quality control programs are developed specifically for each geotechnical specialty. These QC programs are organized around verifiable inspections performed on a daily schedule. Our staff prepares their daily reports on laptop computers with software that provides documentation that is easy to read and review. Our laptop based slurry wall profile drawings are well known in the industry and frequently imitated by competitors. We have all of the testing and sampling equipment for slurry wall, bio-polymer drains, permeable reactive barriers, grouting, and In Situ Soil Mixing. Our typical tests include measurements of viscosity, density, strength, permeability, grain size, flow rates, material weight, and pH. Simple and economical field tests are typically more useful than highly complex tests, but each project will have its own requirements and demands. We generally recommend performing all of the more valuable and practical tests on site to minimize delays in shipping to and receiving test results from off site laboratories.

Specialized Instruments: Monitor Slurry & Grouting Mixes and More

We also have special instruments that can monitor equipment or material performance in real time. Some of this instrumentation is computer based and features the latest in sophisticated design. We generally can provide a quality control program that meets or exceeds the most demanding requirements even on difficult projects involving permeable reactive barriers, mine grouting, and slab jacking.

Quality Control Project Samples

Here are a few grouting and other examples of recent on-site quality control work performed by Geo-Solutions:

  • Slurry wall for dewatering an excavation in Ohio
  • Grouting a dam in West Virginia
  • A difficult drain construction project in North Dakota
