August 10, 2009 -- Geo-Solutions Has Been Named to the Inc 500
The September issue of Inc. Magazine lists Geo-Solutions Inc as no. 322 on the list of America’s 500 fastest-growing private companies. Geo-Solutions was ranked second amongst engineering firms on the list. In a quirky category, Geo-Solutions achieved the No 1 ranking of all 500 firms for the distance traveled for international work (9325 miles to Brisbane).
Chris Ryan, President of Geo-Solutions, said "It is great for our company to be recognized for all the hard work of our employees and the excellent results we have achieved for our clients around the US and around the world." For the previous year, the company was ranked 2069 on the Inc 5000 list, so this is a significant improvement.
Geo-Solutions, based in New Kensington PA, helps to find and implement constructed solutions to difficult problems involving soil and groundwater. Typical projects involve repair of leaky dams and levees, improvement of soft ground conditions for structures and remediation of sites with contaminated soil and groundwater. Geo-Solutions has a number of very experienced engineers and field supervisors as well as a fleet of highly specialized equipment which it mobilizes in support of its site operations.
February 12, 2009 -- Geo-Solutions announced the award of a major pipe filling contract for a gas transmission company in southern Florida. The old lines underlay large sections of a major Florida highway and needed to be filled. Due to access constraints, the lines will have to be grouted in mile-long increments. Geo-Solutions developed special grout formulations to accomplish this work.
November 30, 2008 -- Geo-solutions announced completion of the 5 mile long cement-bentonite slurry wall to repair the Watkins Dam near Ogden UT. The major portion of the project has been completed almost a year ahead of schedule. The early completion allows the local water district to raise the lake to normal operating levels a year early, capturing additional snow melt for use by the residents of the northern valley and restoring the lake to full recreational use. A small amount of non-critical work on the $18.4 million dollar contract remains for completion in 2009.
September 5, 2008 -- Geo-Solutions was recognized as being part of the Inc 5000 list of fastest-growing privately held companies for 2007. The list, published by Inc Magazine had Geo-solutions as number 2071.
